The Legaro Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded in 2019, with the primary objective of creating a positive impact on the communities in which the business operates.
By providing bursaries, education programmes, scholarships and trade-related training to deserving individuals, the Foundation aims to enhance skills relating to the construction industry which will assist in alleviating poverty and unemployment.
The Foundation also focuses on the development of local parks and wetlands within Johannesburg’s northern suburbs, in addition to projects that will contribute to assisting the underprivileged, such as fundraising initiatives for orphanages, the elderly and animals.
In 2022, the Foundation will be sponsoring one learner with a National Certificate in Business Administration Services and eight learners with a National Certificate: Building and Civil Construction. The Foundation’s main objective is to sponsor 100 students within the next 10 years.
Learners will be trained in the office or on-site (depending on the certificate) alongside Legaro employees, and they will all be required to perform both on-site and off-site training, with written exams.
All nine learners receive a monthly stipend, a Legaro uniform and will be expected to appear in Legaro marketing promotions and functions. At the end of the learnership the most promising students will be offered permanent positions in the business.
Making a Positive Impact
The Legaro Foundation is proud to be powering the educational dreams of eight learners embarking on various trade learnerships. The deserving individuals started their learning journey on 1 August 2022. We wish them great success.
